More Ultra Shows!

Greetings BOTD fans! April is a time to shake off that winter slumber and come out to witness more ultra rock brought to you by yours truly. On Saturday, April 19th, BOTD will deliver its 700th live performance in Chicago at Cobra Lounge. e have compiled a bill that we think rocks from top to bottom for your listening pleasure. Doors at 8pm with first band on at 9pm and $12 gets you in for a raucous night of awesome. The lineup consists of:

LEECHES OF LORE: Albuquerque, New Mexico’s finest desert spawn, featuring the amazing banshee scream of Steve Hammond, formerly of the legendary Filthy Jim. Along with Noah Wolters on Jon Lord-like keys and Andy Lutz on drums, Leeches of Lore blend classic metal, noise rock, and country doom into an alter-dimensional spaghetti western to mesmerize the rubes, whilst elevating the rest of us upon the shoulders of the sonic Sasquatch. These are the songs we hear when fight must be chosen over flight. The war upon mediocrity has begun! Their last full-length, Frenzy, Ecstacy was released in 2012 and the live album, Leeches of Lorehestra was released in 2013 on their own label, Flying Midget Records.

UNITED TEACHERS OF MUSIC: From the polar north in St. Paul, MN comes an absolute rock thrashing outfit formed during the summer of 2012 on the mighty Red River. Baptized in catfish guts and warm beer, born of the womb of terrible ideas, the Teachers soon became Minneapolis/St. Paul’s most requested Saturday night band. Quality hits like “Fact, You’re Fucked” and “Paint The Walls With Blood,” showcase an extremely raw band hell bent on entertaining you. Their rock reminds you of another old Minneapolis band, The Midnight Evils, mixed in with a healthy dose of The Dwarves. UToM is comprised of former/current members of Witchden, 20 Dollar Love, Amish Armada, The Drug Budget, and Things Fall Apart. What they say is true: you’ll feel handsome and smart when you hire them for a raunchy Saturday night.

BLACK ACTRESS: Black Actress blends a furious stage show with Fist pumpin’, Fuel drivin’, in your face Rock n’ Roll! Fierce vocals, combined with slaying guitar solos, gut-punching drums, ball kicking bass, all with the sobriety of W.C. Fields. These lads sweat and bleed all that rock has to offer.

Please also catch BOTD and Leeches of Lore the night before, Friday, April 18th, in Indianapolis at The Melody Inn. Joining them will be Darsombra (ex-Meatjack) and our friends The Cocaine Wolves. $7 cover and BOTD on at midnight.
